Friends of Cedar Hill Park AGM

We invite all FCHPS members to join us from 4:30 – 6:30 pm, Saturday, September 24 for a special presentation and our AGM. The venue is: 1245 Judge Place We have a guest speaker Wylie Thomas who will talk about his work.
Wylie Thomas is a restoration practitioner and conservation biologist. Among other things, he manages a federally-funded project to restore critical habitat for federally listed endangered species in Oak Bay. He has also worked under contract to the provincial and federal governments to document endangered and threatened plant species and the invasive species that threaten them in Garry Oak ecosystems on southeastern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
He has a Diploma in Restoration of Natural Systems from the University of Victoria as well as a BSc in Biology from McGill and a Master’s in Environmental Studies from York University.
Wylie will describe the work he is doing to produce an inventory of the natural areas of Cedar Hill Park and share some of his findings, which include the discovery of new rare plants for the park.
In addition to Wylie’s presentation, we will be conducting the business of the AGM with reports and updates from the President, the financials and election of Board members.
